Theta is an options income tracker for premium sellers. It was built privacy-first: there is no Theta account, no Theta server, and no analytics. Your trades never leave your phone. This policy explains exactly what the app does with data — which is very little.
Out of the box, Theta makes no network requests at all. There is exactly one optional feature that does, and only after you switch it on — see the dividend check below.
None from your trading. Theta has no backend of its own. We, the developers, do not receive, store, or have any access to your trades, positions, imported files, or how you use the app. There is nothing for us to collect because that data never travels to us.
Purchases are handled entirely by Apple, as described under Subscriptions below; nothing about them reaches us either.

Theta can warn you when a short call sits in front of a dividend — the situation where an in-the-money call is often exercised early to capture the payout, costing you the shares and the dividend. Working that out needs to know when the company pays, which is public information Theta has to go and ask for.
This feature is off until you turn it on, in Alerts. While it is off, Theta makes no network requests whatsoever.
When it is on, the app sends the ticker symbols you hold short calls on — and nothing else — to Yahoo Finance over HTTPS, to read those companies' published dividend history and current share price. Your strikes, contract counts, premiums, income, and everything else you have entered are never included. The provider sees only which symbols were asked about, in the same way it would if you looked those companies up on its website. We receive nothing; there is still no Theta server. Results are cached on your device so the same symbol is asked about at most twice a day, and turning the feature off discards them.
Theta Pro is an auto-renewing subscription. Purchases are processed by Apple through the App Store using Apple's own StoreKit framework; we never see or handle your payment details, and no third-party subscription service is involved. Your subscription status is read directly from Apple on your device.
Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by the Apple Privacy Policy.
If you enable assignment alerts, Theta schedules expiration reminders locally on your device. There is no push server and no notification data leaves your phone.
Theta contains no advertising, no third-party analytics or tracking SDKs, no cross-app tracking, and no data brokers. Nothing you do in the app is sold or used for advertising or measurement, so the app shows no App Tracking Transparency prompt.
Your data stays on your device, protected by your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID). Subscription requests to Apple, and dividend lookups if you enable them, use HTTPS.
Theta is a tracking and analytics tool. It does not connect to your brokerage, place trades, or provide investment, tax, or financial advice. Figures shown are for your own record-keeping and are not a tax document.
Theta is intended for adults managing their own options trading and is not directed at children under 13.
